I have never used apple pay. Today I got a text saying a monthly subscription of $138.34 was made using Apple Pay at Apple Store. If unrecognized call 1855-***-**** support team. Is this spam?

That is a phishing attempt by scammers hoping you’ll provide personal and financial information so they can use your information fraudulently.
Banks prevent charges from going through and you have to call them to OK the transaction. Merchants never hold transactions. Only banks have the right to stop a transaction. Banks do not alert you the way the scammers are attempting to scare you into doing what they want.
Block the sender, report as junk and delete the text or email.
