updating apple watch, stuck on checking for update

For over an hour my phone has been stuck on checking for update. I did reset my watch. Is it supposed to take this long?

Also disable any VPN or Firewall on your Wi-Fi network, that might block the contact to Apple Servers.

Hello, to answer your question- It should not take over an hour to update. Make sure you have enough storage on your Apple watch, it is on the charger, the battery is above 50% and you are on wifi.

Force restart your watch and your iPhone and then try again.

Make sure that you have a strong WiFi connection.
