That's a personal choice. To me and many others here, the charge limit really won't save your battery much, if at all. Battery Health is determined by the cycle charges. So, using your phone and charging your phone will still lead to full cycle charges over time. What I use is Optimized Battery Charging. I plug (in my case place my phone on it's MagSafe Charging Stand) at night when I go to bed, leaving it on the stand all night, EVERY night. I wake to a fully charged phone, which also backed up at night because I have automatic backups turned on and my phone is connected to Wifi. I own iPhone 16 Pro Max and I got my phone the day it was launched in September. My battery health is still 100%, so I'd say I'm doing really well with managing my iPhone the way I'm doing it.

First and foremost, I agree with everything that was mentioned in this thread.

Now, here are my thoughts:

All rechargeable batteries are consumable components that become less effective as they chemically age.

Recent software updates can accelerate that process by adding features that consume more power.

As lithium-ion batteries chemically age, the amount of charge they can hold diminishes, resulting in shorter amounts of time before a device needs to be recharged.

Apple won’t replace the battery until it reaches 80% capacity.

Li Ion (Lithium Ion) batteries have recharging capabilities; however there are limits.

I recommend to slow charge your iPhone to maximize the charge capacity, battery health and efficiency. ⚡️🔋

NOTE:

Capacity loss in standby applications is largely determined by temperature.

Charge above -30°C and discharge below 55°C for best results.

There is no "best". I just saw an article on the Internet that suggest that you should never charge the phone to more than 73% and never let it drop to below 21%.

I've also seen articles that claim that the battery will explode if it is charged to 100% consistently.

Yet, somehow, iPhone users have gotten by just fine for 15+ years without charge limits at all.

You do know that even if set a Charge Limit of 80%, 85%, 90%, etc that the battery will still charge to 100 "occasionally"...correct? According to Apple, this is necessary to help with accurate battery calibration.

And, of course you will have to charge the battery more often if you go with charge limits.

So.....in my opinion....I think charge limits are more of a gimmick than anything else. But, other users will likely disagree.
