Adobe RGB (1998) profile

I have an iMac M1 2021 24" with a Retina display running OS 15.3.1. I have been using Calibrite Display Pro HL to calibrate with. I noticed that in my display profiles is a profile for Adobe RGB (1998).

My Question is two fold --

1) assume the display is an Adobe RGB monitor? Am I correct in this assumption? and

2) when I use the Adobe RGB (1998) profiles, my monitor is now calibrated to Adobe RGB (1998) color gamut. Am I correct in this assumption?

Thanks in advance for your response

#1 - The display is whomever built it, i.e. either an LG, Dell, Samsung, etc.

#2 - Yes, if you set the Display to the Adobe RGB color profile it will reflect that profile on screen.

Personally I use the following color profile:

When I've used the Adobe profile my prints would come out somewhat muddied with my inkjet printer. I read somewhere that the Adobe profile was geared towards CMYK printers but you may know more about that than I.

I'm running a Mac Mini M4 with an LG 4K 32" monitor.
