IPad 6th Generation not charging

So i have this 6th generation IPad that got handed down to me and for the first 3 weeks the IPad would charge perfectly, but then gradually you would have to wiggle the Lightning Cable in the port for it to charge. And then finally it stopped charging at all but would charge when completely turned off. I recently remembered i had a Lightning to HDMI Cable adapter from Apple since i wanted to use a bigger screen with my IPad. I plugged it in and realized it also would only work when the cable was bent at a 90 degree angle, but the more confusing thing was when the charger was plugged into the same adapter it would also charge the IPad only if the adapter was again bent at 90 degrees. If not, the IPad would read not charging while plugged in.

Has anyone else had this problem or any solutions to it?
