How do I permanently block McAfee popups on iPad in Safari and Chrome?

Recently, I have been plagued by McAfee popups, pretending to scan my ipad. My only recourse has been to press x and return to my game or Kindle book. Safari was my browser. I followed Apple instructions to block popups. Didn't work. Changed browser to Chrome and followed instructions to block popups. Still getting them. Always McAfee, which I've never used nor installed on my ipad. What else can I try?

It is simply an ad provided by the game you are playing or the app you are using. You can contact the developer of the app, they were payed to open that page for you. It is intentional on their part as they would likely have you make an in-app purchase to remove those ads. The McAfee ads they show are known to be the most invasive. How you proceed is up to you:

Contact the developer
Write a review for the app in the App Store
Purchase the option to remove ads from the game
Quit using the app if they are not offering a good user experience.
