Airdrop requires bluetooth reset to work on MacbookPro

I am experiencing an issue similar to the one described here Airdrop to Macbook routinely not working - Apple Community

Here is a full description of the problem:

  • Selecting to "contacts only" or "everyone" does not change behavior
  • Airdrop initiated from iphone 16 (iOS 18.4) to Macbook Pro 2021 (Sequoia 15.3.1)
  • iPhone can see macbook pro in the list of airdrop devices
  • Both devices in a close proximity
  • Bluetooth off/on seem to address the issue and airdrop successfully works.

General recommendations suggest restarting computer which is completely unpractical for obvious reasons. This seem to be clearly a bug, so please fix it. Let me know if you need more information.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 15.3
