Why is the Macbook Air M4 price unchanged in Japan despite being $100 cheaper elsewhere?

Last year's Macbook Air M3 price and this year's Macbook Air M4 price remain the same in Japan. But in the Apple event, it's said that the price will be $100 cheaper than last year. On apple.us website, it's $100 cheap but in apple.jp it's the same as last year. What''s the reason? As a student who wants to buy a Macbook Air, it's a huge thing.

This is primarily a user-to-user support forum; other Apple users like you. We don't have information about Apple's pricing decisions or what goes into making those decisions but based on my personal business experience in other business, there are quite a large variety of factors that go into pricing in various countries and many of those factors are outside of the company's control.
