MacBook Pro 2012 issues with safari software update

OS X LIon from 2008-2011 hard to believe anything works.

See if you can download the OS X El Capitan (2015-2018) , this may be a starting point. I would think the goal of a 2012 Mac is to get to macOS Catalina ( the latest OS you can run on that machine.

for El Capitan installer dmg using the Terminal.app copy and paste:

curl -o Desktop/El\ Capitan.dmg -R http://updates-http.cdn-apple.com/2019/cert/061-41424-20191024-218af9ec-cf50-4516-9011-228c78eda3d2/InstallMacOSX.dmg

report back your success or failure.
