Battery Draining issue with iphone 15 Pro
Hi All,
I’m reaching out to share my ongoing struggle with severe battery drain on my iPhone 15 Pro after upgrading to iOS 18, as well as my disappointing experience with Apple Support. I’m hoping the developer community or someone at Apple might provide better insights or solutions since standard support channels have proven unhelpful.
Despite starting my day with a full charge (95–100%), my battery drops to 20–25% by mid-afternoon, even with moderate usage. I visited an authorized service center, where they formatted the device and claimed to have tested it thoroughly, concluding there was “no issue.” However, the problem persists.
I escalated to Apple Support, who suggested generic fixes like disabling background app refresh, adjusting auto-brightness, and turning off location services—all of which had negligible impact. Then, I was asked to remove most third-party apps and observe the battery performance, which unsurprisingly showed the same issue.
Logs were eventually sent to the Escalation Team, but their response was disappointing—they asked me to use the phone without any third-party apps (e.g., WhatsApp, YouTube, etc.) for 72 hours to analyze its performance. This solution is not only impractical but also unacceptable for a device marketed as capable of handling regular app usage.
As a developer, it’s baffling that Apple hasn’t acknowledged or addressed such widespread battery drain issues post-update. If the device isn’t optimized for third-party apps, shouldn’t this be made clear during launch events or in promotional materials?
My warranty expires in two months, and I’m concerned this issue will be brushed aside once the device is out of warranty. I’m looking for advice on how to escalate this matter further or any technical insights that might help.
Apple’s lack of accountability in resolving this issue is deeply frustrating. Has anyone else faced similar issues, and how have you approached it?
