OS 14 on a 2017 Mac Book running Ventura 13.7.4

I have a 2017 Mac Book Pro running Ventura (13.7.4) and am unable to upgrade to IOS 14. What’s the potential issue restricting me from updating to IOS 14. Everytime i request an update the systm tells me my OS is up to date and no update required.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 13.7

Ventura (macOS 13) is the end of the line for all of the 2017 MacBook Pros. You cannot update your 2017 MacBook Pro to Sonoma (macOS 14) or Sequoia (macOS 15).

As for "why", Apple does not usually say "why" particular computers make the compatibility list, or not. Even if they chose to tell us "why", it wouldn't give you a reprieve as far as installing Sonoma on that MBP.
