Upgrade to more recent macOS

I have a MacBook Pro Early 2015. I'm currently on Monterey Version 12.7.6 I'd like to upgrade to a more modern MacOs but even though App Store says get I'm getting an error saying download not availabl. Exact message is "The requested version of macOS is not available. Please check if your Mac is compatible with this software.".

Does this mean that I cannot use more up to date versions as my office apps are saying I need to upgrade to get those updates.

Thanks

If you are referring to Microsoft 365/Office, staying on Monterey means you will not receive any more updates.

Microsoft Support – Upgrade macOS to continue receiving Microsoft 365 and Office for Mac updates

"If you're on an unsupported version of macOS, your Office apps will still work but you would no longer receive any updates including security updates. For example, if you're on macOS Monterey, but later you don't update your macOS to a supported version when macOS Monterey is no longer supported, you won't receive any updates of any kind."

New users would not even have the option of using the Monterey versions of the Office apps.

"Note that new installs of Microsoft 365 for Mac require macOS Ventura or later."
