iPhone’s hidden photos appear on Mac Photo app when tethered.

When tethering my iPhone 15 Pro Max (18.3.1) to my Mac M1 Studio (running Sonoma 14.7.4) to transfer photos, I noticed my hidden photos appearing on the phone’s photo roll when scrolling through them on the Photos app. That seems like a gross oversight or is there a setting that I missed? It would make sense anything hidden on one’s phone also remain so when connected to Mac as default. Apple needs to fix this if there is none.

I don't connect my phone to my Mac (I use iCloud, unless I'm just fooling around,) so I don't have much experience with this. But I know that to connect the phone to a Mac you have to unlock the phone, so you have to have the passcode-- the same one that opens the Hidden view. So it doesn't seem such a breech of security to me. I doubt that Apple will be too concerned.

You should also know that Hidden is not a place to hide government nuclear weapons secrets, or even your most sacred private stuff. Anybody who knows your 4 or 6 digit code gets to see everything. Hidden is great for avoiding being confronted by certain sights during causal viewing. It's not for anything else, really.
