Connect external storage devices to iPhone - Apple Support

Note that external drives often require their own power supply. Also,

"An external storage device must have only a single data partition, and it must be formatted as APFS, APFS (encrypted), macOS Extended (HFS+), exFAT (FAT64), FAT32, or FAT. To change the formatting of a storage device, use a Mac or PC."

Drives that come pre-formatted with the Windows filesystem NTFS must be reformatted before you can use them with iPhones.

As for the "mag drive product from the Kyo brand", I don't know much about it.

Kyo – MagDrive MD10 – Introduction

The drive claims transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps (USB 3.1 Gen 2 speed), but I suspect that if you were using the drive with an iPhone 13, the iPhone's Lightning port would limit the speed to 480 Mbps (USB 2 speed), tops.

Apple has a USB-C to Lightning adapter that goes from a USB-C plug to a Lightning socket – but I think that's the reverse of what you're talking about.

USB-C to Lightning Adapter - Apple

There is a 1 meter cable with a Lightning plug on one end, and a USB-C plug on the other, but it seems a bit bulky for attaching a magnetic "stick-on" SSD.

USB-C to Lightning Cable (1 m) - Apple

There do seem to be short third-party Lightning to USB-C cables with lengths ranging from 4 to 8 inches, although many of those might be "charging-only" cables that were unsuitable for connecting an external drive.

However, you still might need an external USB-C power supply to provide operating power for that drive.
