Apple Pencil Gen 2 not charging or pairing

I was using my Apple Pencil and then it stopped working. I presume it died so I plugged it in to charge. It has now been charging for over an hour yet my iPad did not register the pencil as charging. I have since restarted my IPad, toggled my Bluetooth, and disconnected my pencil from my IPad with the hope to repair it. I cannot find my pencil on Bluetooth and I am not sure if it is charging (yes I’ve checked that the charger/outlet works). Please advise

Which exact Apple Pencil do you have. You mention the second generation model, but your tagline shows the USB-C one. Also which exact model is your iPad?

How long have you had this pencil? Did you get it with your iPad?

It is the pencil with the USB-C and I bought it in October. I bought it off Amazon but the seller is the Apple Store. My IPad is an Air 11in (M2) and I bought it from the Apple Store also in October.
