Why does the ringtone become quieter when the phone is in my hands, and when I pick it up and look at it, it works loudly? Is it a bug or not?

If you have attention awareness enabled, which it is by default, the ringing will quiet when you pick up the phone and look at it. Since you’re actively looking at it, it doesn’t need to blast out at high volume to get your attention.
