bought in 2010 that has been upgraded to High Sierra 10.13.6. I have 7 incompatible updates and am unable to upgrade. What can I do to upgrade my system?

You can't run those incompatible updates because they require a more modern version of MacOS.
if you are already running High Sierra, 10.13. 6, that is as far as that computer can go.
Hackers have tried to add patches to get that computer to run more modern versions of MacOS, but have mostly abandoned this particular model and ones like it, because it is incapable of using Metal (The imaging system used in later MacOS versions such as Mojave and later) in an appropriately responsive way.
This is not 'planned obsolescence'. This is REAL obsolescence, where your desires have expanded FAR beyond what that computer, even with the Many software updates Apple provided, Free) can do.
