How can I record steps from both Apple Watch and iPhone in the Fitness app?

Hello!

I am reaching out regarding the Fitness app because I have tried in many ways to make it display the steps I take with my phone. Since I have an Apple Watch, I noticed that the steps I take with it are recorded in the Fitness app, but the ones I take with my phone are not.

I would like the app to record the steps I take with my watch on the watch itself and the steps I take with my phone on the phone.

I would appreciate it if you could get in touch with me!apple watch fitness

If you wear the watch, it is the main source for counting steps, even if you have your iPhone with you.

In case you are not wearing your watch, the iPhone will add steps to the Health App, but not to the Fitness App.

I just tried that with my watch and iPhone.

But, as soon as I put on the watch again, the step count in the Health App was reduced to the number of steps the watch counted.

I don't think that this is possible. You could try to make your iPhone the main source of counting steps in the HealthApp/Steps/ -> scroll down -> Data Sources & Access/Data Sources.

In my listing, the Apple Watch is first, followed by my iPhone. If you tap on the source, you can see the steps counted by the device, to find out if the steps collected by the iPhone are added or subtracted from the ones the watch recorded.
