External camera for MacBook Air

Hi, I need to connect my new MacBook Air with 2 Lenovo monitors, using external keyboard and a mouse.

I spoke with Apple support, and because I'll have to close the MacBook Air lid, the built-in camera won't work, he told me.

Does anyone here use an external camera?

Will i need to order something that is Mac compatible?

Does anyone here have any model that they are using, and can recommend?

How can I use continuity camera with my Mac studio when it isn't connected to a webcam to begin with? I connect my mac studio to a monitor that doesn't have a camera. So when using any video call related app the camera is immediately off. Zoom for example there is no option to "change camera". There is no camera connected to begin with so I have no drop down menu to select my iPhone in zoom or meets. It works with my macbook, but my macbook has a webcam. I want to use this continuity camera with my desktop because it doesn't have a webcam to begin with.

MacBook Air front facing camera. I recently bought a late MacBook Air and can't find the front facing camera. Surely they have one. If not, can an external camera be used?
