airpods gen 4 real or fake?

I bought Airpods 4 second hand, brand new as described. The airpods connected immediately and work, but the noice cancellation seems to not work properly. I checked the serial number and it exists, but the airpods themselves have the same serial number on them, as well as a shorter number. Can you verify if they are real?
