Should I remove the SIM card from my old iPhone X before trading it in?

I am trading in my old iPhone X. My new iPhone only has eSIM so there is no need to have the physical card anymore to set up my phone to my existing plan. I have successfully activated my new phone and have all of my information transferred. I have followed the steps to erase my old iPhone X.

Is there any reason I should remove the SIM card from my old phone?
