I can't, accidentally or otherwise, move a file to my Time Machine Drive. TM is very jealous of its space, and it doesn't let anything else there-- or that's what I have thought. I just tried it, and those files just won't go.
Are you sure that's where these files are? Can you include a screenshot showing how they are located relative to the TM files?
Please give us more details.
If you just stored files on a time machine drive, you should be able to drag them back.

Ahh-- I looked at the M1 and thought, "pretty new." But I have TMs with earlier formats, as well.
So, u----, how is your TM drive formatted?
I know you can't on newer Time Machines, but this is one that may have been around for a while.
