How to transfer 1999 Sony Handycam footage onto Macbook Pro M4

I have a Handycam Video 8xr CCD-TR517 NTSC and I need to transfer the footage from the HI-8 cassette to my Macbook. Does anyone have any tips on how to do so and what cords/supplies I need?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 11.4

You'll need a video capture device to connect the RCA output of the cam corder to the Mac and record the taper contents. It will be a real time recording as the camcorder plays back the tape.

For example, click here ➜ ClearClick Video to USB Lite - USB Audio Video Capture Device - Input AV, RCA, S-Video, VCR, VHS, Camcorder... - USB-C Plug & Play - Amazon.com
