I lost my AirPods Pro 2nd gen (usb-c)

I lost my AirPods Pro 2nd gen (usb-c) right piece and to clarify, I do not have apple care and never did. I went and bought a replacement right AirPod piece for 89$ (total with tax was about $102) and it said somewhere on the tracking info page that I had to return it or something like that. I PAID for the replacement so why would I have to send anything back. Also, I lost the piece so I wouldn’t have anything to send back anyway. Also, if I don’t send anything back will I get charged again (or extra). Also, would I be able to send (e.g rocks, or a fake AirPod back) and not get in trouble/charged because I did nothing wrong after paying for a replacement and receiving said replacement. Sorry if I was confusing. If you need me to clarify I will. Thanks a bunch.

This is a user to user support forum. Apple is not here.

We are all Apple users like you who volunteer our time here helping others.

Being obnoxious is not a winning strategy to get help.

You are going through a system set up for warranty replacement purposes.

It assumes you are going to return the defective parts to Apple, verifying that it is defective and covered by the warranty, you then don’t get charged.

When Apple ships you the replacement parts, they put a hold on your credit card, it’s not an actual charge.

Since you have no part to return, there is nothing further for you to do.

The hold will convert to an actual charge.
