Antivirus software for iphone

It's 2025 and hackers and malware are everywhere, isn't it reasonable and smart to run antivirus software on my new iPhone?

No. A virus is a type of malware that spreads copies of itself from one infected app or script to others. IOS is very locked-down and does not allow apps to modify files containing other apps. A “virus” cannot spread to other apps, and an “antivirus” app could not disinfect other apps even if there were viruses in the first place,

Anti-virus or anti-malware, it's all the same useless stuff.


Phishing isn't something you can really prevent unless you turn off email, messaging and don't answer phone calls. Preventing being a victim of phishing scams is something only you can do. You do this by educating yourself.
