Sound distortion on my Iphone

I have trouble with sound distortion with my Iphone 16 pro max. People tell me my speech becomes garbled, volume goes up and down. I call someone and it happens.

iPhone 17 pro max distorted sound Anyone else finding that sounds are distorted on the new 17 pro max speakers? Anything from listening to voicemails or playing back videos recorded on the phone, seems to distort out of the top speaker or bottom. Volume isn’t even higher than half way, or close to it. Even when the volume is set to maximum, the overall loudness is noticeably lower than on my previous iPhone 14 Pro. In addition, at higher volume levels, the sound sometimes becomes slightly distorted or “crackly,” especially when listening to YouTube videos or WhatsApp voice messages. I have already tried all the suggested troubleshooting steps (cleaning the speakers, checking balance, disabling Bluetooth, resetting sound settings, restarting, and updating iOS), but the issue remains the same.
