Can I update my Macbook Air with a new processor to the latest version?

Good morning, I have a question about my Macbook Air model A1405. I replaced the hard drive with a new one, refreshed the battery and updated it to the latest version of Mac available for this device. However, I am very disappointed because despite the operation of various system applications, further use becomes impossible. I can't install any application from the app store because it shows a message that the device is too old. I'm sorry to throw away this Macbook, so I would appreciate any advice on how to make it work for these years. If I replaced the processor with a newer one, is there a chance to update my Macbook to the latest version? Best regards,

As far as I know, you cannot replace the CPU on any MacBook Air. Even if you could replace the CPU, that would not qualify your MacBook Air to run a more recent macOS version.

A1405 is the model number of the battery that Apple used in the 13" Mid 2011 and Mid 2012 MacBook Airs.

The 2011 one has 4 GB of soldered-in RAM and cannot be upgraded past High Sierra.
The 2012 one has 4 or 8 GB of soldered-in RAM and cannot be upgraded past Catalina.

Even if you have the Mid 2012 model, it's had nearly a 13-year run. It may be time to consider replacing it with one of the 13" or 15" M4 MacBook Airs – or one of the 14" M4-family MacBook Pros.
