Closed windows reappearing upon restart
When I restart or log off and back on to my macbook air, a bunch of windows that I closed pop up and I have to close them again.

Clicking the red dot in the corner of the window does not close quit the app itself in most cases, only that window.
If you do not uncheck the box to re-open open apps on shutdown or restart, those apps will automatically launch when you start it back up.
Wow, thanks KiltedTim! This is my first Mac and I’m still learning my way around.
There was one item under “open at login”, so I removed it. There were three listed as “allow in the background”. I remove those as well. I believe it was those exact four that kept opening up on restart.
Open Settings and go to Login Items & Extensions.
Is there anything listed under Open at Login?
I uncheck that box every time, but it still happens. I can’t figure it out…
Thanks for the input. I’ll check that when I get home in a few hours 👍🏻
