Siri is disabled, has never been used on any of our devices. On my iphone 15 pro the red mic at the end of the line where you would write a text is dangerously close to the blue and whit send arrow and turns itself on

Open the Settings App > General > Keyboards > Dictation and turn off Enable Dictation. This will remove the microphone from the keyboard.

Somewhat. I’d rather it disappear completely so it can’t accidentally be activated and I can’t unknowingly send some random voice recording. The one I noticed today had been recording for 47 minutes after I was called away mid-text.
After following suggested fix from lobsterghost1 the mic disappears after I start typing a text.
