in short, I have what the title says. Is there an in-home fix I can do or do I go to the genius bar?
Update now my phone screen is just black but I still think it is on. I am not sure what to do.

Try a Forced Restart. This is the first thing that the Apple technician will do if you take it to the Genius Bar.
Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
Follow the instructions very carefully, as this is a bit tricky. (Hint.....ignore the "slider" when it appears and keep holding the Side button in until the Apple logo appears. This might take another 10-20 seconds.)
If no luck after a few tries, it's time to take the phone in for service.
