Quick Note Disappeared Automatically Not in Quick Notes, Not in Recently Deleted
I had one Quick Note saved on my MacBook, which I always accessed by hovering my mouse in the bottom-right corner (the Quick Note feature). Recently, when I opened my MacBook, it suddenly opened a new blank Quick Note, and my old note was completely gone.
I’m using a MacBook Air M3 running macOS 15.3.1.
I’ve already checked the Notes app under the Quick Notes folder, and it’s completely empty. I also looked in the Recently Deleted section—nothing there either. I logged into iCloud Notes via icloud.com/notes, and the note isn’t there. I even used Spotlight Search with keywords I remember from the note, but no results came up. I also checked on my iPhone (which is connected to the same Apple ID), and there’s no trace of the note there. Unfortunately, I don’t use Time Machine, so I can’t try restoring from a backup.
I didn’t delete or overwrite anything. It seems like the system opened a new Quick Note automatically and the old one just vanished without warning.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is there any way to recover the lost Quick Note? It was important, and I genuinely thought Quick Notes saved automatically. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
