No such thing as"link" is legitimate.

The ONLY way to track it is using find my. Log into your account at https://icloud.com/find from a browser.

Do not trust any link sent to you by anyone, including anyone claiming to be Apple.

Actually, it is very easy.

Apple does not get involved with lost or stolen phones, so any message or "link" that you might see will NEVER be from Apple.

Ignore and delete any messages like this regarding your iPhone.

Any message of this sort is always a scam, sent by the thieves, fences, or other dishonest people for the express purpose of ripping you off.

An honest finder would not ask you to enter your credentials or to remove your iPhone from the list of devices that are associated with your Apple ID. They would offer to leave the phone in a safe public place, such as the lost and found department of a mall or police station, where you could pick it up without fear of being mugged.

"They" are not Apple, because Apple does not get involved with lost or stolen phones. There is only one thing to do with the message......delete it.
