Download all Photos from iCloud to local Mac drive

I would like to download all my images and videos fro iCloud into a folder on my Mac Desktop

I have followed a couple of steps from internet forums none get all the images off iCloud

This should be a simple task like"Select All" & Download. I see nothing like this in iCloud

Please help in what should be a very simple task, I am happy to admit I am slow

It’s far easier to use photos and sync with iCloud. Open photos. Navigate to photos > settings > iCloud. Once you log in, your photos will download. Do not optimize photos to download originals.

Thank you for the reply

I have done this there are still photos on icloud that are not on my mac. Is there a button to click to get it to "resync"

additionally the photos are stored in

/Users/xxxxxx/Pictures/Photos\ Library.photoslibrary

I have to sudo there and also just to annoy me there is a space in the folder name.

Again thanks for the reply but it doesnt seem to work
