My iPhone got blocklisted

I purchased an iPhone about a month ago from a person. He assured me that he purchased it from apple but yesterday the mobile got blacklisted by one of the communication companies. I paid a huge amount for this phone but got blacklisted after using for just one month. Is there somewhere or someone to describe this issue to and get help from? I got really confused and feel bad.

don’t know what to do.

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 18

You very likely got scammed. There are several common scenarios. One is that you bought a lost or stolen phone whose true owner got around to having their carrier blacklist it. Another is that a scammer sold you a phone and then had it blacklisted as a part of a scheme to commit insurance fraud. Another is that a previous owner bought the phone on a contract and welshed on the contract, so the carrier blacklisted it.

Unfortunately for you, in any of these cases, the carriers would have NO reason to take the phone off of the blacklist.

Return the phone to the seller for a refund - if you can do so safely. Do not be surprised if the seller refuses to give your money back or has very conveniently “disappeared” - leaving you the proud “owner” of a “brick.”
