iPhone keeps dropping calls after 2 to 3 minutes
I’m talking on the phone and all of a sudden calls fail and I can’t even dial back in. This has been happening for the past two months and it’s very frustrating.
I’m talking on the phone and all of a sudden calls fail and I can’t even dial back in. This has been happening for the past two months and it’s very frustrating.
I can understand how frustrating that must be. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:
1. Check Signal Strength
- Ensure you're in an area with strong cellular reception. Weak signals can cause calls to drop.
2. Restart Your iPhone
- Press and hold the side button and either volume button until the power-off slider appears. Turn off your iPhone, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
3. Update iOS and Carrier Settings
- Go to Settings ➡️ General ➡️ Software Update to ensure your iPhone is running the latest iOS version.
- Check for carrier settings updates by going to Settings ➡️ General ➡️ About. If an update is available, you'll see a prompt.
4. Reset Network Settings
- Go to Settings ➡️ General ➡️Transfer or Reset iPhone ➡️ Reset ➡️ Reset Network Settings This will reset Wi-Fi, cellular, and VPN settings but won't delete your data.
5. Reinsert Your SIM Card
- Remove your SIM card, clean it gently, and reinsert it. Ensure it's seated properly.
6. Disable Wi-Fi Calling (if enabled)
- Go to Settings ➡️ Phone ➡️ Wi-Fi Calling and turn it OFF. Sometimes, Wi-Fi calling can interfere with regular calls.
7. Contact Your Carrier
- There might be network issues or restrictions on your account. Reach out to your carrier to check for outages or account-related problems.
8. Test in Airplane Mode
- Turn ON Airplane Mode for a few seconds, then turn it OFF. This can help reset your connection to the network.
If the issue persists, it might be worth visiting an Apple Store or contacting Apple Support to check for hardware issues.
