My car play used to work extremely well, but now it cuts off after maybe 5 minutes of use. I have reset CarPlay on my phone many times, as well as reconfigured it in setting on my car. What is going on? I get it to work nd an update for my phone happens and CarPlay no longer works. Then it is resetting many times without success.

Usual is to un-pair from the infotainment system, and separately un-pair from the iPhone.
If there are any add-on VPN apps or add-on security apps, remove all of those, restart, and try again.
Check for firmware updates for the infotainment system, and update iOS to 18.3.2.
Re-pair.
If that fails, try CarPlay from a different iPhone and see whether and where the problem might move.
Also check with the infotainment system vendor, whether that’s the vehicle manufacturer or an aftermarket infotainment system vendor.
