How can I save documents on MacBook and iCloud Drive?

my documents are no longer found on MacBooks. Only on iCloud Drive. want them in both places

See if Desktop & Documents Folders is Toggled On:

If Documents are not saving, then they are toggled on in iCloud, and are stored on iCloud, rather than the local drive.

  1. Go to: Apple menu
  2. Click: System Settings
  3. Click: Apple Account (top-left item).
  4. Click: iCloud
  5. Click Drive in Saved to iCloud
  6. See if: Sync this Mac is toggled on.
  7. See if: Desktop & Documents Folders is toggled on
  8. Toggle Off: if toggled on.
