how to i return unopened software i ordered from apple

I recently ordered Microsoft Office Home 2024 License for $149.95 from the apple store for my daughter in college. She informed me that her college provides this software already. She received the software on March 20, 2025. The software has NOT been opened but when I go to the Apple website and click on my order it states this:

Your order is no longer eligible for return.

Any suggestions on how to return the software - it says I have 14 days to return anything but so far it is only day 2.
