Trackpad battery swollen: seems like a common issue

I searched around and found out that there are quite a number of complaints out there about the swollen batteries of the Trackpad device.

Mine is a Trackpad2 (MJ2R2LL/A).

Is this a common phenomenon?
What do you do when it happens?

Mine is a Trackpad2 (MJ2R2LL/A).

Stop using it, and get a replacement. If yours is still under an Apple warranty, you may find that you can get a replacement for little or no cost to you. However, an Apple Technician will need to examine it to verify that it is due to a manufacturing defect and not user caused.
