Connect UVC device to iPhone

I'm trying to connect a UVC-compatible HDMI capture card to my USB-C iPhone to use it as a camera monitor for my Canon camera. The phone, however, doesn't seem to be able to recognize the HDMI signal coming from the capture card. I have read the documentation of Apple's UVC support and it looks like they only mention iPadOS in their documentation, no mention of iOS.

Yet the iPad does. I think they should port this feature from the iPad. It's not like porting stage manager or something like that, it's just opening up a small part of the API that allows that. I'm pretty sure the device recognizes the hdmi input but won't let apps access it.

iPhone won’t accept hdmi input.

It only outputs through hdmi.
