We do have an Epson printer, but the model# does not match the name of the "PC" in the Finder/Network.

The image that you sent me, titled: "epsonb9bec5" consists of two parts:

  • The manufacturer: epson
  • The vendor's designation part of the device's MAC address: b9cec5.

This is why I asked if you have an Epson printer. If you temporarily power-down the printer, and then, restart your Mac, does this "PC" still appear in the Finder?

Which exact model is your Epson printer? Per chance, does it have an external USB storage device attached to it?

It's not your Mac sharing that this is the reason. Without knowing anything about your Wi-F network or this "unknown" PC, it will be a bit difficult to assist you ... so bear with me as I need to ask you some questions.

  • Is this your Wi-Fi network? That is, is this a home network that you administer?
  • If so, does the current Wi-Fi network require a security password to access it, or is it an open network that doesn't require a password to connect to it at all?

Please take a screenshot of the Finder window with this PC and provide it in your reply post.
