How do I transfer folders from Windows PC to iPhone 15 Pro?

I have always used Windows on my PC and had an Android phone. My sister recently got me an iPhone 15 Pro and added a line to her account for me. I spent a lot of years putting together a large family genealogy database. On Android I used GedStar Pro which is not available for ios. What i could find and purchased was in the Apple store ends up saying Family Tree 11 but had a different name in the app store.

I have a lot of pictures and texts organized in folders but have found no way to transfer folders to the iPhone. I connected my iPhone to my computer via a usb cable and quickly learned I apparently can't transfer files to it with windows explorer. Next I found articles on the internet that said to use iTunes but again I can't seem to be able to transfer a folder with it. So I installed the apple devices app in windows and the same result.

Is there anyway to transfer folders to an iPhone? I can't attach a folder in my email or I'd try that way as that was how I got my contacts from my Android phone to the iPhone.

I am a COMPLETE novice at anything Apple. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much again! I used icloud and it was super easy to transfer up to the cloud from the pc, then in iphone copy them to local storage via files and copy.

If you want to access iCloud from Windows, you can either install iCloud for Windows, or use the Web interface https://www.icloud.com/ .

My understanding is that you can synchronize calendars either through iCloud or through connecting your phone and your computer to the same e-mail accounts.

Note that the iPhone likes to keep photos within its own Photos database. You can keep .JPG files loose in iCloud Drive, but then you'll probably. have to view them from the iPhone's Files app, unless you want to take them from there and import them to Photos.
