Why is my phone volume so low all of a sudden?

I have an iPhone 12 which has worked fine until recently. All of a sudden, I can barely hear anyone talking while I’m in a phone conversation. Speakerphone works fine. I have tried updating, resetting, power cycling, changing every audio and volume setting. I’ve tried compressed air as well… nothing increases the volume to where it was before. I am not the only one with the issue. Apple, please fix this!!
