Does Apple still support Apple HD TV boxes?

I was just wondering if Apple still supports Apple HD TV boxes because I do not see any accessories for it online anymore. If not do we have to upgrade to the 4K TV box?

Apple TV HD, tvOS 18

Apple's hardware device support policy is as follows:

  • 0-5 years: Full support
  • 5-7 years: Vintage with partial support
  • 7+ years: Obsolete with no support

The Apple TV HD model came out in 2015, which would put it into the last category so I would not expect that Apple will support it or provide any updates to it ... but that does not mean it cannot still be used as it should run the latest version of tvOS (18.x)

So, you don't have to upgrade, but you certainly can if you think the latest Apple TV model will better meet your goals.
