I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing has worked.

Has anyone had this problem and managed to solve it?

*Neither sound nor visual notifications.

Not getting Mail or Messages app notifications on my Mac mini I'm quite new to Mac so it might be a setting I've changed but I don't get notifications for new email or messages. I had a look in the Settings of 'Run in Background' and 'Open at Login' and none of them are there, should they be there? Weather app works okay and that doesn't appear in 'Run in Background' or 'Open at Login' either. I need to know when I get a new email or message on my Mac (latest OS). As you can see, no 'Running' indicator (should there be one?) and no Notification number. [Re-Titled by Moderator] Original Title: I don't get notifications for Mail or Messages
