Locate and remove invalid certificate

I have an invalid certificate that I allowed by mistake and it is blocking my internet connection and need to remove it but it is not shown as a profile in VPN & Device Management and I can’t find it to delete it. Have iPhone 12 mini running ios 18.3.

Since the certificate isn't showing under VPN & Device Management, here are some steps you can try:

1. Check Certificate Trust Settings:

  • Go to Settings ➡️ General ➡️ About.
  • Scroll down to Certificate Trust Settings.
  • Look for the certificate causing issues and disable trust for it.

2. Clear Safari Data:

  • If the certificate is related to a website, clearing Safari's cache might help.
  • Go to Settings ➡️ Apps ➡️ Safari ➡️ Clear History and Website Data.

3. Reset Network Settings:

  • This can remove any lingering configurations tied to the certificate.
  • Go to Settings ➡️ General ➡️ Transfer or Reset ➡️ Reset ➡️ Reset Network Settings.
  • Note: This will erase saved Wi-Fi passwords, so make sure you have them handy.

Restart everything, your new router, iPhone, printer, everything, and check again.

On your iPhone, are there any security apps installed, or any “coffee shop” VPNs installed, or any browser extensions?

There are a lot of questionable or shady or garbage apps and services being marketed as “better security”, unfortunately. It’s arguably where the malware is nowadays; as adware or malware or such, all with nice packaging and an end-user license agreement nobody reads.

Actually the place I found the certificate info was when I tried to access safari on my phone and it popped up that “this website is trying to impersonate DuckDuckGo to steal personal info. I couldn’t find anything on my iPhone it just keeps responding that “internet is not connected” when I try to connect to WiFi even though the WiFi symbol at the top is showing. This all occurred when installing new Xfinity xfs router/modem. As you can tell I’m not a techy person.
