I have an iPhone that works with a physical sim but when I decided to add an eSIM through a QR code it wouldn’t recognise the QR code. When I went into cellular data there was no option to add sim? The phone was sold as dual sim and in the about section it says there is a front and back sim? Any advice would be helpful.

What is the model number in Settings>General>About?
Thanks for your reply the phone was purchased in France, so didn’t expect it be form or for the Chinese market 🤔 so if that’s the situation it will accept two physical sims back to back?
