Why does a square box appear in high resolution photos on my iPhone?

Hi I noticed that when I try to take a camera photo with a higher resolution of 1.0 I have this square box. If it's lower resolution such as 0.5 it's not there and when I try to take a reverse photo the square box isn't there.

FYI, The 0.5 and 1.0 are zoom settings, not resolution settings. An iPhone implements them using two separate fixed-lens cameras. Phones generally do not have lenses with continuously variable focal lengths like the zoom lenses that dedicated cameras have.

The 1X lens/camera on iPhone 14 Plus, and .5X lens/camera are both 12 megapixel cameras. Resolution should be the same for both cameras.

The black line through the image is either a physical obstruction in the light path or a failure of an internal component, such as the image stabilization system.

Are all the photos the same? Do you hear any unusual noises when selecting the 1 X lens/camera?
