It would help if you included a screenshot.
But my guess: Are you very close to the screen when you take the picture? This would make the camera use the wide angle lens, a lens used to pack more space into a picture than normal. If you're very close, then the center of the computer screen is significantly closer to the camera than the sides, so they have a different magnification. It can make pretty funny pictures of faces, where the nose is closer to the lens than the ears! But it's great for getting pictures at a dinner table, maybe, where you can't back away any farther. Fun Houses use convex mirrors to get the same effect.
So-- I think you should move back when you take the picture. That's the best I can do without seeing what you got.

Yes--it looks like moving back should give you the right perceptive, and the detail should be fine.
Have you thought about doing a screenshot on the computer? You would avoid the reflections and the Moiré patterns with the pretty colored lines. Then you can crop the picture to the dimensions you want.
Thanks, Richard. Your description pretty much matches what I keep getting, so I’ll try moving back next time. The problem is that I’m trying to capture slides with text, so I’ll hope that if I move back and do a telephoto I’ll get something that is readable.
And actually, I did keep one of the photos, so here it is.
The screenshot is certainly another option, although I think it's going to take more attention. I'm just trying to get quick shots of an instructor's slides during a class for reference later, not for long-term keeps. Mostly, I'm glad to know why this happens and how to fix it on the fly. Thanks so much!
Cool--quick is good1
