iPhone 15 pro max wireless charging issues

My phone used to charge on my nightstand on a wireless charger no problem. Recently, even though phone pings and shows the charging icon it sometimes fails to charge. Maybe only charging to about 25-30% it’s totally random but seems to be getting more frequent. It often used to do this when there was a pending software update but it’s totally up to date. I’ve done a search online and only suggestion was to quickly press volume up button, then quickly press volume down button then keep power button pressed until you see the apple icon. Hope it works but I have my doubts. Has anyone else with the same problem found another fix? My partners phone charges no problem on same wireless charger, as does my watch. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Is your wireless charger a modern MagSafe Charger? If it's an older QI charger, the coil may not be optimally placed for where the MagSafe charging coil is in your 15 Pro Max. I stopped using standard QI chargers long ago, slapped a MagSafe case on my iPhone and only use a real MagSafe Charger, which is 100% reliable.

If you can report back who made it, we might be able to help you better. Maybe post a photo of it.

This is what a good quality MagSafe Charger looks like. My iPhone case is MagSafe and has a circle on the back, which are magnets. When I place my phone on the charger, it attaches precisely by magnet.

I’m not sure what sort it is if I’m honest. Got it around the same time I got the 15 Pro Max (when they were first released in the UK) it’s worked flawlessly until the last 3 or 4 months. I’ll work out what kind it is. Thanks for your advice

I’ve checked it’s not a MagSafe charging stand. It’s just a cheap Chinese one (albeit well made).

However the phone charged up no problem last night so don’t know if it’s because I did the wireless charging reset I mentioned earlier or luck. I’ll see what happens over the next couple of days and if the problem returns guess I’ll be shopping for a MagSafe charging stand. Thanks again for your help, much appreciated 👍

You're welcome and I hope the Forced Restart solved this for you. That procedure often cures odd things.
